Originally built in 1934, this home was composed of a cramped kitchen that barely fit one person, archways that were not to code, and an uncomfortable and slender family room. Needless to say, this house could not accommodate the family of four that lived there. In order to provide the owners with a much needed upgrade, a simple 200 sq.ft. addition and remodel of the existing space was needed. We were able to provide the family with a beautiful great room surrounded by windows allowing sunlight to flood through space, a catch-all for much needed storage, stairs to the basement that where to code, and finally a beautifully functional galley kitchen with a coffee corner. 

Originally built in 1928, this home’s dated segmented design prevented the current owners from enjoying their unobstructed view of Puget Sound as well as disconnecting each room along the main floor. Adding to the dated structure was a decommissioned elevator well, which consumed a large portion of the kitchen and second floor bedroom and bathroom. Part of bringing this home up to modern standards, meant reclaiming the area taken over by the elevator well and demolishing necessary walls. This provided the owners with a beautiful design that catered to their lifestyle, provided ample storage for their growing family, and allowed them to enjoy their gorgeous views.

Originally built in 1904, this home was in dire need of an renovation. Aside from upgrades to the kitchen and other spaces on the main floor, much work was required to provide the owners with a sufficient master suite without breaking their budget. In order to do so this, we opened the existing attic space to the second floor. This provided us with enough additional floor area, albeit not an addition, for a bathroom, laundry room, and closets to accommodate the master bedroom. In addition, vaulting the ceilings made the bedroom feel larger. Meanwhile, on the main floor, the kitchen, guest bathroom, mudroom, and office were renovated both for functionality and aesthetic appeal.
